Received two laptops as possible donations for a local church, potentially for upgrades to Windows 11 now that Windows 10 is out of service.

Silver Dell Latitude E4310 laptop: Hard drive was toast. Bare minimum memory installed. Could upgrade HDD to SSD and increase the memory, but looking to not spend any additional money at this time. Also the CPU is not compatible with Windows 11.

Black Dell Latitude 7480 laptop: Hard drive and memory are good. CPU not Windows 11 compatible, though.

Wiped both computers clean and did a fresh install of Windows 10. Provided recommendations for a new Lenovo laptop to the church.

May throw Linux on the 7480 or run a very small local LLM and eventually upgrade the E4310 hardware to run Linux as well.

Fun project - always interesting exploring these older devices.

A church in West Grove, PA suddenly lost the ability to display slides on multiple monitors. After performing some diagnostic testing, it was determined the HDMI port went bad on the video card. New video card ordered and installed within 24 hours, everything functioning as normal after install.

Here, our client has a Dell Inspiron laptop with a battery that would not hold a charge when unplugged.

Removed the cover to reveal a bloated battery. We had ordered what we assumed to be the correct sized battery from iFixIt however the size was too small. Luckily there was a computer supply store nearby with the correct battery in stock.

Within 30 minutes, the new battery was in the laptop and running good as new.
