The ATF just dropped its 2024 Annual Fi****ms Manufacturing Report, and the numbers are in.

A big thank you to Leland Nichols for putting this together. Leland is one of the most knowledgeable and respected executives in the fi****ms industry, and his analysis makes this report an essential read every year.

We reviewed production data from over 3,900 Manufacturing FFLs to build out the Top 30 Largest U.S. Firearm Manufacturers of 2024. Here is what stood out:

R***r holds the #1 spot for the 3rd year in a row with 1.35 million fi****ms produced. Smith & Wesson moved up to #2, overtaking Sig Sauer. Empire Precision Plastics made the biggest jump of any brand, climbing 25 spots to crack the Top 30 for the first time. Total U.S. production came in at 9.6 million units, down 2% as the market continues its post-COVID normalization.

The full breakdown covers pistols, revolvers, rifles, shotguns, and exports, with five-year trend data for every brand in the rankings.

ATF has issued Interim 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐮𝐥𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓𝐑-𝟓𝟒𝐓, providing updated guidance on who may be considered an “unlawful user” under federal fi****ms law.

The rule is effective 𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 and may affect how prohibited person determinations are evaluated during firearm transfers and inspections.
