We all know you need an elevator pitch for spontaneous networking. But I'm proposing something a lot more fun. In 2 sentences or less, tell me in the simplest terms what you do.

💉️ A nurse might say, "I stick people with needles and wipe adult butts any given day."

🦷 A dental hygenist, "I take sharp metal tools and stab people in the gums while looking for holes in their teeth."

🙋‍♀️️ Here's mine! "I listen to adults vent about what they're putting off doing and tell them daily that they need to do it." AND "I tell people who are asking strangers for money betters ways to ask them for money." 😆

OKAY. Your turn. Tell me what you do, but tell me poorly.

Did you jump on the Clubhouse bandwagon?

What do you think of the platform? Personally, I'm still getting used to it -- but I love the idea of having discussions without being "Zoom-ready". It really lets you hone in on a topic and get to the nitty-gritty without much of the fluff and pomp. Think - podcast episode with a group discussion element.

Don't let fomo take over your original marketing gameplan...

Yes, we're 23 days away from Black Friday.

Yes, it takes a ton of time and energy to map out a sales funnel for cyber deals and online promotions.

Yes, if you need to pivot the holiday promotions you planned to get back to your authentic and customized marketing plan you still have time.

But please do us all a favor and keep things simple, stick with that you know works for YOU and your business, and stop doing what your competitors are doing. Do what works for YOU.

Feel like you’re standing still in the middle of the hustle and bustle? Looking out at other entrepreneurs who’ve had a six-figure launch… or your business 'frenemy' who’s making crafts with her kids every afternoon... Or that up-and-comer who’s always on networking dates and seems to be thriving. Everyone is cute, happy, and glowing (not my kind of glow, either! 🤰🏻).

Guess what? Our brains were never meant to process the amount of information we receive all at once. When you scroll through social media and see those marvelous highlight reels of HUNDREDS of people - your brain reads it as one person. “They” have it all together, “they” are so well-rounded, “they” are just set in life.

It’s just not true.
Don’t let yourself believe the lie that you’re not enough. You're doing your best with that you got.

You don’t need to race, you just need to keep moving. But if you don’t know where the next step should be, let me know. I’ve recently coined the term “Personalized accountability + recognition” as the brand of support I offer busy women running a business (or two!) and trying to be at peace in their home with back to school changes.

This isn't cookie-cutter reminders to journal in the morning and post to social... these are hyper-specific action steps for where you are in your business and where you want to go.

No, I didn’t have my baby yet. 😏

Labor Day looks a little different for me lately than it used to. I wasn't always an entrepreneur/freelancer/business owner.

I would frolic with my family and friends on this coveted day off from the "9-5 grind"... barely aware of the origins and more focused on what I would eat from the grill. (🌭, 🍗 or 🍔)

Labor Day is a holiday born out of the courage of working people who fought for their rights nearly 150 years ago. Once a radical movement, it’s now a holiday that governments and companies commemorate with a day off — though, as an entrepreneur on your own schedule, it’s just as likely you’re getting some work done today just like I am.

That shouldn't stop you from taking a moment and reflecting today. When you really think about it, this holiday is a reminder that once-radical ideas can become second nature. Block out 10 minutes to create a list of your own radical ideas (for business, for clients, for life 🌎) and let me know what you come up with.

If you're brave enough to advocate for it, your new radical idea might change the world for the better.

I got super lucky and I know not everyone does. My husband and family have always been supportive of me and my business. Even after all of the shifts and growing pains I had when I was first starting out!

BE the person you needed when you were young. Answer the DMs, go out of your way to help, add value wherever you can, and be present. You’d be surprised how it will fill you up.

If you had to plan an escape - would it be to a calm beach, vibrant forest, jaw-dropping mountain, or to a new PRIVATE she-shed just for you?

Asking for a friend.
Who can travel.
Someday.
Wah.

Planning is a great way to build expectations and excitement in your business. Creating a plan sets the momentum behind your ideas and goals.

The cautionary tale here (if you’re anything like me) would be to avoid dreaming up tons of plans and FAILING to take clear action toward any of them. Check-in with yourself and your big long list, adjust what’s still relevant to you now, and trim the fat where you see fit.

Keep your focus, we all can end the year strong!

🤑 If you are looking into a more ‘passive’ type of revenue stream, this is for you! Here are 3 reasons you should be an affiliate for any company you love (especially a big one like Amazon).

#1. Adding additional sources of revenue is key to making your business more secure and stable in the long run. This is something a lot of in-person service-based entrepreneurs had to learn the hard way this year.

#2. You can diversify your business with this additional “curation service” in an afternoon. I’m not kidding when I say I’ve set this up for several clients while my husband was taking the dog for a quick walk around the neighborhood.

#3. It’s SO EASY to set up, even a teenager can do it (and has done it!). The application process is usually super straightforward and most of the time people who don’t even have established businesses can start an affiliate program. There’s really no excuse not to get started today.

Mornings are a little different than they used to be - red raspberry leaf tea instead of coffee, pregnancy affirmations instead of scrolling business blogs, and mapping out digital product funnels instead of in-person workshops and retreats.

I do love change for the most part. Whether you do or not, adaptability is vital, especially in a world full of unknowns you have to stay savvy and quick on your feet to carve out a path that works for you and your business. But hang in there, we’ve got to find some normalcy by the end of 2020, right? Maybe? We’ll see.

Here’s a DIY clear-out-your-brain exercise. Turn your screen & devices off, grab that cute notebook you bought forever ago and use the next 15 minutes wisely.

> Write down 3-5 of the cool business ideas you were inspired by this year or quarter
> Circle the ones that you could implement in one week from start to finish. I don’t mean factoring in distractions and family obligations, I mean what you can actually knock out on your own within 5 business days.
> Draw a line through any that you can’t outline/design/create/develop on your own (even if you had 2 months to learn the tech and get a design rolling).
> Consider the circled content that’s left on your page and decide which one would be the most FUN for you to do right now.
> Turn the page and write down the steps needed to actually get started through to launching.
> Start with the first step today 😉
