The City of West Hollywood celebrates October 11 as International Day of The Girl, a key global moment to celebrate the power of girls and highlight the barriers they face. 👧🏿👧🏻👧🏽👧🏼👧🏾

International Day of The Girl is an opportunity to acknowledge the uniquely difficult position of girls who are discriminated against simply for being young and female.

From taboos around periods to child marriage to gender discrimination, an international day for girls is an effort to bring global focus to the lack of representation in the global development agenda.
