Doster Leadership Forum, now known as the Doster Leadership Conference, is a biennial leadership conference sponsored by the Krannert School of Management Council. The forum began in 1999 when a group of enterprising students and a dedicated adviser named Barbara G. Doster created a weekend-long leadership conference focused on management student’s interpersonal skills to complement their skills g

ained in the classroom. As the years have passed, various themes of leadership have been the focus, from Sculpting Tomorrow’s Leaders: The Art of Leadership to Exploring New Frontiers: Leadership Without Limits. As the forum continues to develop and improve, the council is continually striving to make the forum a better experience for all those involved from the corporate sponsors to the students.

On February 13th we lost one of the greats. Howard Doster had a deep passion for teaching and brought his love for agriculture to life inside the walls of Purdue University classrooms. Not only was Howard devoted to increasing the quality of learning on campus, he also set ambitious goals to co-author a national or regional article every month. It was this same passion and tenacity that Howard Doster brought with him every year to the Doster Leadership Conference. He was a great storyteller and had a knack for personally touching those around him, even if they had just met Howard. Howard Doster gave so much to the conference, Purdue, and the world of agriculture and he will be deeply missed.
