Another successful dryer repair and maintenance service completed for a loyal customer in SE Portland!

The customer called us because their Amana dryer was no longer heating properly. After diagnosing the issue, our technician found a failed heating element and replaced it to restore proper drying performance.

While servicing the unit, we also performed our recommended dryer maintenance service, which included:

✅ Lubricating drum rollers, drum supports, and the belt tensioner/idler pulley
✅ Vacuuming out lint buildup inside the dryer cabinet
✅ Cleaning accumulated lint from the lint trap area

Check out these before-and-after photos! The amount of lint buildup inside this dryer was substantial—a very common problem that many homeowners never see because it's hidden inside the machine.

Excess lint can restrict airflow, reduce efficiency, increase drying times, cause heating issues, and even become a potential fire hazard. Routine maintenance helps keep your dryer running safely and efficiently while extending the life of key components.

A regular customer in Lake Oswego recently scheduled a service appointment for their U-Line refrigerator because it had stopped making ice.

When we notified them that the technician was on the way, they let us know the unit had just started making ice again and were considering canceling the appointment. Since the appointment was already scheduled and within our cancellation window, a service call fee would have applied. They decided to keep the appointment to make sure everything was working properly.

During the inspection, our technician found that no parts had actually failed. Instead, the ice box door was not fully closed and the ice bucket was not seated correctly, preventing the unit from operating as intended. After making these adjustments, the ice maker was back to functioning properly.

The visit was completed under the standard service call fee, and for added peace of mind, our 90-day warranty now covers the service call fee if the same issue returns and another visit is needed.

Sometimes the solution is simpler than expected—but having a trained technician verify the cause can save time, frustration, and unnecessary repairs.

Before You Schedule Service, Try the Reset Button!

A customer recently contacted us because their Reliance water heater wasn't producing hot water. When our technician arrived, we found that the unit had not been reset yet.

Since replacement thermostats weren't available on the service vehicle, the first step was to reset the water heater and allow time to see if normal operation returned. The customer is now monitoring the unit, and if the issue persists, we'll return for further diagnosis and repairs.

Appliance Tip: Sometimes a tripped safety device or control can cause an appliance to stop working. Before scheduling service, it's worth checking your owner's manual to see if a simple reset procedure is recommended for your appliance.

Maintenance Tip: Regularly draining and flushing your water heater is one of the best things you can do to help extend its life and maintain efficiency. Over time, sediment can build up inside the tank, which can affect performance and potentially lead to premature component failure.

Of course, if the problem returns or the appliance still isn't working properly, it's time for a professional diagnosis.

Back on the Road Again 💪🔧We’re so happy to share that Cory is back to work!

After stepping away for a medical emergency, he’s been cleared to return (for now) until he heads back out for an upcoming surgery. It’s been great having him back doing what he does best.

Emergency Service Call — Problem Solved! ❄️

Our technician was recently called out for an emergency service on a 1996 side-by-side Sub-Zero refrigerator. The freezer door was stuck open, and the customer was understandably ready to start breaking parts if needed.

Luckily, the fix was much simpler. The technician found that the lower freezer door bin was catching on the lower basket. After properly reattaching the door bin, the freezer door now closes and seals correctly — no broken parts required!

Older, well-built appliances can often be repaired with the right experience and care.
