Our rescue kitties have developed quite the little fan club! 😂🐾

We love seeing people stop by just to peek through the windows and check on our furry residents. Some even come just to see the cats!

What started as helping animals in need has turned into something that brings a little extra joy to our community. ❤️

At this point, we’re convinced the cats run On The Geaux Repair, and we’re just the employees. 😂

Chester came to us because his previous owner had gotten too old to care for him, and instead of quietly becoming “the shop cat,” he staged what can only be described as a hostile takeover of On The Geaux Repair.

He now controls the front door, employee morale, customer relations, rescue intake, and apparently municipal ambitions.

Chester serves as our unofficial welcoming committee, greeting customers like he owns the place which, legally, he does not, but emotionally, absolutely. New rescue animals are also subjected to his inspection process before being allowed into the kingdom.

He communicates primarily through a bizarre little bird trill when petted. Nobody knows why. Scientists have declined to comment.

In his limited free time, Chester trains for combat by wrestling a Spider-Man plushy approximately his own size. Spider-Man has suffered repeated defeats and has not filed charges.

Chester also deals with a heart murmur, thyroid issues, and an ongoing eye problem. Has this humbled him? Absolutely not. He continues to patrol the shop, supervise employees who did not ask to be supervised, and stare judgmentally at customers until they acknowledge him.

His qualifications include:

* Wearing a tuxedo to work every single day
* Extensive experience in public relations
* Proven leadership over humans
* Welcoming rescues without demanding a salary
* Undefeated record against Spider-Man
* Zero known scandals, mostly because he cannot operate a cell phone

Chester is living proof that sometimes a rescue animal doesn’t just find a new home.

Sometimes he takes over the business.

West Monroe deserves a mayor in a tuxedo.

Vote Chester for Pet Mayor.

He already thinks he won.

NELA has kept us BUSY — and lately, our old systems simply haven’t been able to keep up. We’re now seeing customers drive in from all over Louisiana and even out of state.

We’ve added new techs and are changing some of the systems behind the scenes so we can keep up without things getting missed.

Please bear with us while we work through the growing pains. We appreciate the hell out of the support.

Teddy is back with us. 💔

About seven months ago, Teddy found what we thought would be his forever home with a family who absolutely loved him. Unfortunately, circumstances forced them to leave the country (ICE), and they had to make the heartbreaking decision to bring him back to us.

Teddy is seriously the biggest cat we’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting — in size and personality — and seeing him back at the shop is bittersweet.

So here’s the deal: we’re posting Teddy every single day until we find this giant boy his forever home again.

Somebody out there needs a Teddy. And Teddy needs them. ❤️

Please share.

We ran an ad all across NELA offering a discount if someone came in and did one simple thing…

Days went by. Not. One. Person. 😂

So we enlisted the help of one of our all-time favorite customers, Ms. Jean, to finally make it happen.

And Ms. Jean absolutely understood the assignment. 💀👏

Our tech, however… had absolutely no idea what was coming.

“We can fix almost anything.”
Except your decision to buy the cheapest charger at the gas station. 🥴🫠
