While imparting new knowledge can be very useful, I truly believe people get the most from my coaching by the example I set before them. I assert that all we experience comes from who we are Being...Being gives us our thoughts, feelings, and actions. I have included here my story of overcoming a block that stopped me from living my childhood dream of being a fine artist and my triumphant freedom to be that artist today! At the early age of 7, I discovered I had artistic talent
I Loved to draw the world around me. I knew without a doubt that I would grow up to be an artist and I was very proud and cocky about that! I felt lucky and privileged that I had something that very few other s shared. Although at 16 there was a critical turning point. I was denied by my parents to go to Art School. And not understanding what they were dealing with, I remember saying to myself,
"I MUST NOT BE GOOD ENOUGH AS AN ARTIST!", otherwise they would have sent me! I was angry and hurt and, of course, that made the STORY all that more true! IT WAS THEIR FAULT!!! THUS CREATING A POWERFUL BELIEF! I AM NOT A GOOD ENOUGH ARTIST!"
It was a downhill slope from there - I struggled for 30 years trying to be the artist I dreamed of, but no matter what I did to keep my talent alive, it all just got worse; I lost all hope and for 20 more years, I did nothing! After many years of study and SELF-Development, I learned that each and every person creates their own life. Once in Mind (Making UP Stories) and second in physical reality by the actions they take based on believing their story! This is living in your mind, not Reality! It's like eating the menu thinking it's the food! I realized that as long as I kept that belief ("I am not a good enough artist"), I would never be the artist of my dreams! About 10 years ago I decided to take responsibility for my life in this area. I gave up my resentment toward my parents. And more importantly, I gave up resenting myself for selling myself short! Little by little my STORY waned. In the process of that, my wife Marilynn requested me to paint a rather large backdrop (8'x12') for our stage here at our Spiritual Center. I reluctantly said yes. When I had completed it, I realized that I had some false assumptions about myself as an artist. For it had turned out pretty dam good! From there, I started to focus my thoughts on what I wanted to be and express, rather than being upset with what I wasn't. I have been painting now for 10 years and my work has been in several Galleries and I have sold more than 2 dozen since, with much more to come!
