HOLSTERS

What holster are you using for your carry weapon? What is your carry style? Regardless of whether you carry appendix, 4 o’clock or even underarm, the basic fundamentals of holster selection remain the same.

1. Is it safe? Is it made from quality kydex from a reputable dealer? Does it have enough tension or will it drop out of your holster? Will it bend and contort over time? (leather)

2. Is there retention? Are you using plastic clips that can be ripped from your trousers during an altercation? Or are you using metal clips? Are you capable of retaining a firearm if your life depends on it? How often are you training to your preferred carry method?

3. Is it comfortable? Can you wear it continuously for 12+ hours without constant adjustment, chaffing or heat rash? Does it have a sweat guard? Do you need one?

Ask yourself these questions before deciding what holster you select for your daily carry. And above all else TRAIN with your preferred method! Without training all you have is an expensive, heavy belt buckle. At FSG we provide one on one CCW classes for all Florida residents and our knowledgeable staff can answer all questions and concerns about carrying a firearm throughout the day.
