Today was Super Bowl LX, and like many Americans we were up watching the game, debating plays, sharing food, and maybe enjoying a drink or two. It got me thinking about how sports have this unique way of bringing us together—not for titles or job descriptions, but for pure camaraderie and a shared goal.

Imagine if more workplaces felt like that.

In HR, we can borrow a page from the playbook:

Create “team moments” where people can celebrate wins together, not just hit deadlines in silos.

Make sure everyone knows the game plan—clear communication, shared goals, and space for each person to play their position well.

When employees feel like they’re on the same team, engagement rises, collaboration improves, and performance follows.

Congratulations to the Seahawks on their Super Bowl LX win—and here’s to building workplace cultures that feel more like winning teams and less like competing departments.
