One of my favorite strategies for our local business clients is to create a coupon book for top products/services (new customers only) as a digital download. We promote the coupon book via Facebook & Instagram Ads and then require name, email and phone in exchange for the coupon book. This creates a lead that can now be passed to a sales person! In full transparency, the leads don't convert at an extremely high rate (maybe 1/10), but they're generally very cheap (in terms of cost per lead) so a healthy ROI on ad spend is easy to accomplish.

People often ask me questions related to their blogs or content they plan to produce for themselves or for their business. Usually, they are trying to figure out how they can get traction (readership/viewership) and why they don't seem to be seeing results.

Usually, people struggle with content creation because they are failing to create content that is UNIQUELY valuable. If you're publishing informational/educational content that has already been published elsewhere, without providing unique value...you're going to struggle.

As a side note, for entertainment oriented content, you don't necessarily have to meet that threshold (think YouTube bloggers, personalities for example).

PLEASE, help spread the word! Facebook should be absolutely ashamed of what they are doing to harm small businesses. Multiple times over the past several months, I've seen and experienced several small business ad accounts being banned from running ads on Facebook without any reason provided.

Some of the accounts were later reactivated with Facebook admitting that NO policy was broken and that the accounts were mistakenly disabled. This is happening to one of my clients now who has not been able to advertise for weeks, without reason. This is the conversation I had with support.

This is despicable and reprehensible, Facebook. Shame on you.

LOCAL BUSINESSES:

Here are some aid and grant options available to you during the COVID-19 pandemic...

1) There is a PPP grant program from the federal government that will cover your payroll and rent expenses for 2.5 months. https://home.treasury.gov/…/cares-act/assistance-for-small-…

2) Google is rolling out a grant program of $340 million to help businesses who use Google Ads. From what we understand, those grants will appear automatically in your account by the end of the year. This is for businesses who have advertised consistently for the past year on Google Ads.

3) Facebook is offering $100M in cash grants and ad credits for up to 30,000 eligible small businesses in over 30 countries where we operate. We’ll share more details as they become available.
