I’m so incredibly honored to be receiving the AFP Legacy Award.

AFP has been such an important part of my life and career for so many years. It’s where I found wonderful friendships, mentors and opportunities to grow and lead and people who share my passion for making a difference.

The word legacy makes this especially meaningful. To me, it’s about what we give back, the people we help along the way and hopefully leaving our community a little better than we found it.

I hope you’ll come join me as we celebrate all this year’s incredible honorees and the people who make such a difference in our community. I would love to see you there.

After more than 30 years of working in fundraising and nonprofit leadership for a variety of organizations, I realized it was time for me to take a chance on myself and make my own pivot.

That’s when FunderWoman was born.

Starting my own consulting business was definitely a leap, but it gave me the opportunity to take everything I had learned over three decades and use it to help nonprofits in a whole new way.

I’m looking forward to sharing more about that journey on September 30. The decision to take the leap, what I’ve learned along the way, and why sometimes the next chapter of your career is the one you create for yourself. ❤️

For more than 30 years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside nonprofit leaders, staff, board members, volunteers and donors who bring passion, persistence and creativity to their missions. May is Brain Tumor Awareness Month also known as “Gray May” a time to honor survivors, remember loved ones, support families, and raise awareness for a disease that impacts more than 23,000 Americans each year.

Brain cancer changes lives in an instant, yet too many families face this journey feeling overwhelmed and under-supported. Increased awareness, education, advocacy, and research funding are critical in helping improve outcomes and bring hope to patients and caregivers.

I’m honored to work alongside the Musella Foundation For Brain Tumor Research & Information, Inc., an organization dedicated to advancing research, providing patient resources, and helping families navigate the challenges of brain tumors with compassion and knowledge.
