We are excited to introduce the new to us Squad 184. After months of decision making and searching, we found the right fit for us. The new 184 Squad has replaced the 184 Engine and the old 184 Squad that served the Borough of West Pittston for many years. Although we were sad to see the old trucks go, we are looking forward to serving the community with the new 184 Squad. We wish the best of luck to Ledgedale Dive/Rescue with the old 184 Squad and Banner Elk Volunteer Fire and Rescue with the old 184 Engine.

Special Thanks to Signal 5 and Salesman Jamie Merlino, Brindlee Mt Fire Apparatus for helping us find and purchase the new 184 Squad; 877 Design for the new design and lettering for the new 184 Squad.

Lithium-ion batteries power many of the devices we use every day — phones, laptops, tools, e-bikes, v**e devices, and more — but they can be extremely dangerous if thrown in the trash.

When damaged, crushed, or exposed to heat, these batteries can spark and cause fires or even explosions. Unfortunately, many garbage truck and landfill fires are started by improperly discarded lithium batteries. These fires put sanitation workers, first responders, and our community at serious risk.

🔋 Never throw lithium or “e-” batteries in the regular trash or recycling bin.
✔️ Take them to a designated battery recycling drop-off location.
✔️ Keep batteries in a cool, dry place until disposal.
✔️ If a battery is damaged or swollen, handle with care and contact your local waste authority for guidance.

Help us prevent unnecessary fires and keep everyone safe. When in doubt — recycle it properly. ♻️🔥
