Membership Appreciation City of West Richland Government
This fast-growing, peaceful city of more than 17,000 regularly ranks as a top family-friendly destination statewide. It stretches 7,000 acres along the Yakima River and was formed in 1955 by the merger of two small agricultural towns.
The City of West Richland is unique in that it contains over 7,000 acres of agricultural land within the city limits, including irrigated pastures, orchards, grapes, potatoes, and other field crops. During harvest times, produce from the local farms provides visitors a variety of exceptional fresh foods.

Visitors here can spend days fishing, kayaking, tubing, and rafting. The city's proximity to Red Mountain makes a wine-tasting excursion an easy choice. The prestigious—and fast—Tri-City Raceway at Red Mountain Event Center hosts stock car races; it’s the only half-mile paved tri-oval track in North America, designed in 1968 to represent the Tri-Cities. Bombing Range Sports Complex is a center for citywide events and celebrations, as is Flat Top Park, which hosts concerts, movie nights, and Carols and Cocoa during the winter.
The Yakima and Columbia Rivers provide many recreational opportunities for visitors. Site seeing, riverboat tours, fishing, kayaking, rafting, bird watching, golfing at the local 18-hole golf course, and walking/biking paths can all be experienced from the heart of the City of West Richland.
