Small local business spotlight: Solano Baking Company! This is one of our longest running business partnerships to support our little brand (customers for 5 years!) Solano Baking Company is located at 1160 Pitt School Rd Ste B, Dixon, CA. It is a family owned operation that has been in business since 1981! And it’s truly delicious, if you know this place, you absolutely adore this place. All of their baked goods are crafted in house and they strive to support their community by using high quality, locally sourced products in their goodies. The owner of Solano Baking Company is actually sister to the owner of Sweet Peas in Vacaville, where we also sell honey, I know, small world. They are both very kind and supportive of other local small businesses and we love being part of their companies. They support our little business by selling our honey in their storefront and by using our honey in their products, special shout out to the honey latte. So delicious! We are very fortunate to be treated like family by them. Owners of small businesses like Solano Baking Company prove that when we invest in our communities, they show up for us so we can all benefit from each other and be a successful operation for decades. Today we did something very special for Mother’s Day! We went and picked cherries at Diablo Cherries in Brentwood. It was special to our family because our bees helped pollinate this orchard so that there would be cherries growing here this season. Days like these are when it all feels like it comes together, full circle. This is what it is all for, this is the literally fruits of our labor. It was an amazing experience, we picked a giant bucket of cherries! The owner of the farm was so sweet and insisted we take the bucket home no charge. We are so grateful to be part of this incredible agricultural community. Thank you we will be back and will be telling all our friends and family to come and pick cherries this season.

We are starting a new series of posts where every First Monday of the month, we are going to feature a post that highlights the businesses that kindly sell our honey in their stores. First up, we are going to highlight one of our very first supporters, Sweet Pea’s Nursery located at 891 Alamo Dr. Vacaville, CA. They are a family owned nursery that sells so much more than just plants. They have sold our honey for 5 years now! They also sell organic fruit plants, veggies starts, hundreds of other various types of indoor and outdoor plants, as well as feed products for multiple species of animals and so many fun items for your home, garden and so much more. We personally can’t even drop honey deliveries off without finding a fun item to take home with us. If you’re headed to the Bay Area or local to Solano County, it is a must stop destination. Just as they support and prop up so many local businesses within their store and at their markets, please do the same for them and go check out their amazing store!
