Mia has been found. Mia is in good health and reunited with her family. The North Kingstown Police Department would like to thank the public for all the tips, which lead to locating Mia.

This is a message from the North Kingstown Police Department. Today, November 9 at approximately 3:30 PM a 12-year-old girl left her home located on Iron Horse Terrace. Shortly after her bicycle was found in the 900 block of Stony Lane. Her name is Mia. She is about 5 feet tall, 120 pounds, wears glasses, with short brown hair with brown eyes, wearing a purple hoodie, and dark gray pants with a white stripe. Anyone who observes Mia is asked to call 911 immediately. You will notice a large police presence in the area. This concludes the message. Thank you for your attention.

Q - I manage a building in Providence,With the weather cooling, we are closing the pool and roof spaces. Why do I need security in the fall/winter months?
A - is not something a team needs to consider only when the weather is warm. Security is a year-round concern.

During cooler months, many people move inside, and this includes those who do not have homes. is a serious problem in the providence area, and indeed all of the Rhode Island.These unfortunately folk will move into whatever shelter they can find, and this often means the vulnerable areas of buildings: parking garages, storage rooms, trash rooms, hallways, maintenance areas, etc.

At Metropolitan Public Safety, we provide professional security services, which means that our security officers are going to be active patrolling the property, and securing the unlocked doors that can make a building vulnerable. If the door is broken, we promptly notify management or maintenance staff directly, to get it fixed. Additionally, sometimes it is a building's residents who prop open doors to smoke or run errands, and this leaves a building wide open! We fix these issues immediately, and will make attempts to find out who is doing it, so that you can take the appropriate community measures.

When our officers encounter vagrants and other trespassers, we do not act heavy-handedly. Homeless or not, they are still people, and will be treated with respect and dignity. But we will still es**rt them off of the property, and will notify local police agencies, if necessary.

Unfortunately, not all security companies provide more than basic "walk and watch" services, and are not going to be proactive, or reactive in these situations, that arise on your property.
