I look at mental health in the same way as I look at physical health: if you take your eye off physical health for too long, it will deteriorate.

Make sure that you are checking in with yourself and make sure you are on a good page, mentally. This pandemic is as much about managing your mental health as it is about managing your physical well-being.

I am worried about small business owners right now. Every small business owner who I know is working flat out trying to keep their business afloat, trying to save as many jobs as possible, worrying about the impact on livelihoods, providing new/additional support to their clients and panicking about the health of loved ones. The strain on these small business owners is immense.

I know lots of small business owners who feel pressure to be superhuman. The expectation and judgment levied against themselves is overbearing in normal circumstances, so during this time, I've seen it jump to new extremes.

My advice is that you won't be good to anyone if you don't take care of your mental well-being. This pandemic is unlike any other crisis we've experienced: it is a marathon not a sprint. If you want to last the distance, you have to adopt a new mindset and approach.

What you need is more self-compassion and gentle acceptance of all the difficult emotions coming up for you right now. For some it is hugely uncomfortable, but try as you may, you cannot bypass or rush your way through the impact of this crisis.

It's really easy in times like these to start comparing yourself to others and how they are coping. I'm here to tell you that there is no right way to cope with this pandemic.

Just because you are not training to run a half marathon or you are feeling overburdened with responsibility, does not mean that you are failing. It means that you are human.

This is a pandemic, not a productivity contest. Don't feel pressure to fill every moment with "doing" because processing our emotions is also an essential part of living.

I've been thinking a lot about how I can help people during this pandemic.

One of the ways I want to help is by normalising how we are feeling.

Several clients of mine have had to restructure their organizations; in some cases halving the size of their workforce.

Whilst restructuring they were in operating mode; focused on what needed to be done next etc. It's only now, once the dust has settled, that the emotional impact of the restructuring is starting to surface. Many are feeling guilty, anxious and stuck in a cycle of self-doubt and judgment. Some are feeling depressed and isolated (it can be lonely at the top...)

All of them don't know what to do with these new emotions as they are coming up.

We are being tasked with creating a whilst also grieving the loss of the world that we knew, so it's no surprise that we are struggling and feeling anxious - it is a totally normal response.

There is still a lot of shame associated with less-than-optimal mental health. If you are struggling at the moment, I'm here to tell you that you are not alone.

The most important thing you can do right now is to name these emotions, so you can start working through them. If you need help navigating and making sense of your emotions in a judgment-free zone, please get in touch.

We are all on a new learning journey as we figure out how to work and live in lockdown and adapt to this .

I'm aware that half the time I don't really know what I'm doing! I'm noticing that anxiety and feelings of uncertainty have become new work colleagues as I navigate the current landscape. I'm giving myself permission to feel all these emotions because experience has shown that if you don't name what you are feeling and own these emotions, they will eat you alive.

Wishing everyone a very Happy Easter Weekend and blessings during Passover. Now is the perfect time to be close to your loved ones, to call your friends and family and to unwind from the challenges of the last few weeks.

I've recently discovered how much I like to be in motion: accomplishing tasks, moving things forward, generating, creating in a focused and intentional way. Just being busy. The COVID-19 crisis has caused this momentum to be curtailed.

I've slowed down to a point where I'm having to focus on what is happening in the present moment. I'm expanding my awareness of my internal landscape and experiencing the highs and lows of a life fully experienced.

At a time where the world is standing still, you now have the opportunity to spend time on rediscovering what is important to you.

However you are feeling at the moment, know that this is totally normal and that you are not alone.

While we may not be able to choose our circumstances, we can choose how we experience these circumstances and the story we create. This is a simple but elusive truth: your inner game runs your outer game.

The way we look at things makes a difference. How many times have you gone into a meeting, "dreading it" or telling yourself that it is a "complete waste of your time"? You are in a perspective that assumes the meeting will be difficult or useless. The truth is that the meeting will be the same no matter what perspective you are in. However, the way you choose to look at the meeting has an enormous impact on your experience of that meeting.

Exploring different perspectives allows us to look at the same situation in fresh, new ways. Looking at our circumstances or a situation from many different points of view also gives us the power of choice. We are always choosing. Not choosing is a choice. The question is whether we are conscious of our choices?

We each have the power to make conscious, grounded choices to view our circumstances in a more empowered, creative and resourceful way.
