For Employee Appreciation Day at Covalence, we wanted to do something special, so we put together a virtual game show. 🎉

We introduced Coworker Clash, our own Covalence take on Family Feud.

Some of the questions made us laugh, the answers sparked debate, and the competition turned out to be surprisingly fierce.

People had strong opinions about the best perks of working from home and the most common items people bring to a party. Let’s just say not everyone agreed with the survey results. 😄

Jokes aside, we’re really lucky to have such a smart, supportive, and fun team. Big thanks to everyone who makes Covalence what it is every day.

Year-end doesn't end with your final payroll run. Before generating W-2s or T4s, it's important to validate the setup behind the numbers, not just the totals themselves.

Start by reviewing key company and tax setup reports in UKG Pro:
✨ Company Tax Verification – confirms company details, tax IDs, and tax code configuration used for reporting
✨ Company Master Profile (Current Tax Profile) – shows what's on file with UKG Pro Payment Services
👉 Compare these reports to ensure everything matches across all tax jurisdictions.

Next, review earnings and deduction setup, since these directly impact taxable wages and year-end form reporting. Validate earnings codes and tax categories, confirm deduction and benefit codes are set up correctly (pre-tax vs. post-tax), ensure healthcare deductions are flagged properly for W-2 reporting, and check special earnings like fringe benefits, group term life, dependent care, and deferred compensation.

Finally, spot-check W-2/T4-specific reporting:
✨ Review W-2 Box 14 labels
✨ Validate healthcare year-to-date amounts
✨ Confirm employee details like SSNs and addresses are accurate

And don't forget, UKG has year-end checklists to walk you through all the steps needed to validate, so you can make sure you've got everything covered.

Taking a little time now to audit the setup can help prevent incorrect forms, rejected filings, and stressful cleanups after forms are issued. A small check now can save a lot of time at year-end!
