Happy Father’s Day from Kauhale Health

Some of life’s greatest lessons aren’t found in books...they’re learned from the fathers, grandfathers, and father figures who lead by example.

They teach us through quiet acts of kindness, unwavering support, patient guidance, and the stories they pass down from one generation to the next. They remind us that strength can be gentle, wisdom grows with experience, and showing up for the people you love is one of the greatest gifts of all.

At Kauhale Health, we’re honored to know so many remarkable men whose lives have been filled with service, sacrifice, laughter, resilience, and love. Their experiences continue to inspire those around them and enrich our communities in countless ways.

Today, we celebrate every dad, grandfather, mentor, and role model who has helped shape a family, a friendship, or a future. Your legacy lives on in the lives you’ve touched and the values you’ve shared.

From our Kauhale ʻohana to yours, we wish you a Father’s Day filled with appreciation, cherished memories, and meaningful moments with those you love. 💙

🌺 Our ʻOhana Spotlight 🌺
Featuring: Kim Sargent

This month, we’re proud to recognize Kim Sargent, our dedicated Housekeeping Supervisor, who has been a valued member of the Kauhale family for the past eight years. Kim began her journey as a Concierge and Scheduler before transitioning into Housekeeping, where her hard work, leadership, and unwavering commitment earned her the role of Housekeeping Supervisor. Family is at the heart of everything she does, and she and her husband, Darrell, will celebrate 38 years of marriage this October after renewing their vows in 2024. Together, they love spending time with their daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren, Tessa and Levi, and Kim rarely misses a chance to cheer them on from the sidelines.

Before joining Kauhale, Kim built an impressive career as an Activities Director, worked in local schools supporting fundraising efforts, owned her own tanning salon at just 19 years old, and even spent years waitressing at a beloved Dayton restaurant. Through childhood health challenges and personal loss, she has developed the resilience, strength, and compassion that shine through in everything she does. When she’s not at work, you’ll likely find her traveling, visiting the casino, or enjoying quality time with family—just don’t ask her to cook! As she looks ahead to retirement in the coming years, we’re incredibly grateful for the dedication, positivity, and care she continues to bring to our residents and team. Thank you, Kim, for making such a lasting impact on our Kauhale Ohana.

Mahalo for all that you do. 💛

🏆 Kauhale Health Earns Great Place To Work® Certification™

We’re proud to share that Kauhale Health has been officially Certified™ as a Great Place To Work®!

This recognition is especially meaningful because it’s based entirely on feedback from our own team members. It reflects the culture we’ve worked intentionally to build — one rooted in trust, collaboration, and a deep commitment to putting people first.

We believe that when our team feels supported, valued, and empowered, our residents and families experience the difference every single day. Creating a workplace grounded in dignity, accountability, and connection isn’t just good culture — it’s essential to delivering exceptional care says Jim Palculict, President and COO of Kauhale Health.

This certification affirms what we strive for daily:
• A workplace where people feel heard
• Leadership grounded in service
• A culture that prioritizes growth and purpose
• A community where employees and residents alike feel at home

We are incredibly grateful to our Limahana (employees of the team) whose dedication and heart make Kauhale Health what it is. This achievement belongs to you.

Here’s to continuing to grow, lead with purpose, and build communities where both residents and team members thrive.

Today, on Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. 🇺🇸

At Kauhale Health, many of the stories shared within our communities carry pieces of that history. Stories of military service, sacrifice, resilience, friendship, and loved ones who never returned home. These memories remind us that freedom is deeply personal, and that behind every flag placed in remembrance is a life, a family, and a legacy that deserves to be honored.

Today, we hold space for reflection. For gratitude. For remembrance.
And for the countless individuals whose service and sacrifice continue to shape the lives we live today.

May we never lose sight of the cost of freedom, nor the responsibility to honor those who gave everything in its name.

From our Kauhale ʻohana to yours, we wish you a meaningful and reflective Memorial Day. ❤️🤍💙

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Kauhale Health. 🌷

Today, we celebrate the women whose love, strength, patience, and care leave a lasting impact on the people around them. Mothers, grandmothers, caregivers, mentors, and mother figures each bring a special kind of warmth that turns everyday moments into memories that stay with us for years to come.

Throughout our communities, we see firsthand the wisdom, resilience, kindness, and heart these incredible women carry with them. Through stories shared at the table, traditions passed down through generations, comforting words, and moments of laughter, their influence continues to shape the lives around them in meaningful ways.

Mother’s Day is more than a celebration, it’s a chance to pause and recognize the quiet ways love shows up every day. The reassuring presence during difficult moments, the lessons taught through example, the sacrifices made without recognition, and the countless acts of care that helped others feel safe, supported, and deeply loved.

Today, we honor every hug, every word of encouragement, every tradition, and every woman whose care has helped make life feel a little brighter and a little more like home. 💐

From our Kauhale ʻohana to yours, we wish you a Mother’s Day filled with love, reflection, connection, and meaningful moments together.

🌺 Our ʻOhana Spotlight 🌺
Featuring: Cindy Jo Dean

This month, we’re proud to shine our ʻOhana Spotlight on Cindy Jo Dean, whose heart and creativity continue to bring meaningful moments to life at Kingswood Senior Living.

Recently, Cindy Jo spent time alongside residents in Memory Care, guiding them through the creation of bright, cheerful collages—each piece filled with color, care, and personal expression. Nearby, soft music played through the room, creating a calm and comforting atmosphere where residents could simply enjoy the moment in their own way.

For over four years, Cindy Jo has led activities with a signature blend of patience, encouragement, and joy. She has a unique ability to turn everyday afternoons into something engaging and uplifting—meeting residents where they are and helping them feel seen, involved, and connected.

Her path into this work is deeply personal. After caring for her father following his stroke, Cindy Jo discovered the power of creativity as a way to connect, heal, and bring joy. What began as time spent creating art together has grown into a career rooted in purpose—one that continues to make a lasting impact on the lives of those around her.

Cindy Jo, your compassion, creativity, and dedication embody the spirit of Kauhale. We’re grateful for the care you bring to our residents and the warmth you share with your team every day.
