Last week, Mark Freado provided training for the staff of Little Red River School in Christopher Lake, SK, Canada. The staff received training in The Three Pillars of Transforming Care. They also received the first training in the new edition of The Art of Kid Whispering: Reaching the Inside Kid. As a trusted group of colleagues, they provided focus group feedback to help move the 2nd edition of the Kid Whispering book and training toward completion. It was a very productive week of learning and fellowship.

Last week, Mark Freado and Sue Kraus Jones presented a featured workshop (Connection Before Correction: Practical Strategies for Attendance, Behavior and Family Partnerships) at the ICEARY Conference in Normal, IL. The statewide conference had more than 700 alternative educators, administrators, truancy intervention staff, counselors, homeless liaisons, ALOP Advocates, K-12 teachers & ROE staff in attendance.

Mark Freado joined LSCI Senior Trainers Sue Jones, Amy Wallick, and Sharon Mannix at BT-BOCES last week for their LSCI Community of Practice gathering. This quarterly practice supports self-reflection, depth of learning, and transforming the culture of LSCI so the life outcomes of those we serve are enhanced.

The new Reclaiming Youth at Risk webinar series is underway. We began in August with Mark Freado & Sue Jones presenting on The Conflict Cycle and the Circle of Courage. In September, Larry Brendtro presented on Mental Health and the Circle of Courage. This month, on October 19th, Steve Van Bockern will be presenting on Schools That Matter. Last week, Little Red River School near Christopher Lake, Saskatchewan, opened the school year with a Reclaiming Youth group consisting of Mark Freado, Dr. Janice Muench, Sue Kraus Jones, and Dr. Bob Foltz. This is the third year the RYAR group has provided an opening conference for this school team.
