What if you could monitor multiple pest species, without adding complexity?

Multi-species monitoring solutions are designed to give you broader visibility across your facility using fewer tools.

That means:
✔ Fewer traps to manage
✔ Better coverage
✔ Earlier detection of shifting pest activity

Instead of monitoring in silos, you gain a more complete picture of what’s happening.

ICYMI: Timing is everything when it comes to stored product moth control. 🦋

As temperatures rise, Indian meal moth activity starts increasing — and waiting until moths appear often means you’re already behind. In our latest blog, we break down:
• how mating disruption works
• why it’s one of the most proactive tools for moth management
• why “by Mother’s Day” is an important timing benchmark
• and how facilities can stay ahead of infestations before populations explode.

If you’re involved in stored grain, food processing, warehousing, or IPM programs, this is a great seasonal read heading into warmer months.

Most pest monitoring programs are built to target one species at a time.
But real-world environments don’t work that way.

Stored product facilities often deal with multiple pests at once - overlapping activity, shifting conditions, and hidden infestations that don’t always show up where you expect.

When monitoring is too narrow, it’s easy to miss early signs of a bigger issue.
A broader approach can give you better visibility and better management.

👉 Stay tuned as we share a smarter way to approach pest monitoring.

ICYMI: Our latest blog explores one of nature’s most fascinating engineering feats — insect flight. 🪰

From the evolution of direct and indirect flight muscles to why some stored product pests have actually lost the ability to fly, this article dives into how flight shaped insect survival, dispersal, and adaptation in human environments.

The post also connects these concepts back to stored product pests like rice weevils and granary weevils, helping explain why certain insects thrive in warehouses, grain storage, and food facilities today.

One trap. Multiple pests. Smarter monitoring.

Multi-species monitoring products help facilities simplify insect monitoring while expanding visibility across multiple stored product pests at once. From reducing trap overload to improving trending data and supporting proactive IPM programs, these tools are becoming an important part of smarter pest management strategies.

In our latest blog, we break down:
• the benefits of multi-species monitoring
• how these products support operational efficiency
• why trending data matters
• and what to consider when implementing them in your facility

At Insects Limited, we believe successful fumigation doesn’t end when the treatment is complete — it’s evaluated through ongoing monitoring, insect biology knowledge, and understanding what your monitors are telling you afterward.

That’s why Tom Mueller is excited to speak at this year’s Post-Harvest Fumigation School alongside the USDA, continuing a long-standing collaborative relationship focused on advancing stored product pest management through education and science-based practices.

Tom’s presentation will focus on post-fumigation monitoring, specifically how insect biology and monitoring data can help evaluate fumigation effectiveness and improve long-term outcomes. The grain industry has historically underutilized monitoring as part of the fumigation process, and this session will explore practical ways to better integrate it into decision-making and facility programs.

If you’re interested in improving how you evaluate fumigations and learning more about the role monitoring can play in long-term pest management success, we’d encourage you to register for Post-Harvest Fumigation School and attend Tom’s session.

Can you tell the difference between key stored product pests?

If not, fumigations can fail.

Different pests respond differently to treatment - and misidentification can lead to poor outcomes, wasted time, and recurring infestations.

This is exactly what will be addressed at:
Post-Harvest Fumigation School (June 9–10)

Including a hands-on session featuring Tom Mueller of Insects Limited.

If you're responsible for post-harvest pest management, this is a training worth attending.
