Your biggest security risk might be something you forgot you own.

A recent report found that 74% of organizations have suffered security incidents tied to unknown or unmanaged assets. When people think of cyberrisk they think or phishing or malware, but what about forgotten subdomains, staging environments left running, and config files accidentally pushed to public repos?

A subdomain pointing to a deprovisioned cloud service can be claimed by an attacker who then serves phishing pages and malware from your trusted domain or a forgotten .env file or open database port can hand over credentials and API keys with zero exploitation required
..And your vulnerability scanner can't help, because if an asset isn't in the inventory, it isn't being scanned.
