🔥 BURN BAN IN EFFECT 🔥

Collin County and the City of Weston are currently under a burn ban.

Please avoid outdoor burning and use extra caution with anything that could create a spark or fire. Cooking fires are permitted, but please keep them attended at all times and have a way to extinguish the fire nearby.

Help us reduce the risk of wildfires and keep Weston safe.

🔥 VERY HIGH / EXTREME FIRE DANGER THURSDAY 🔥

North Texas is expected to face Very High to Extreme Fire Danger on Thursday, August 13, including the DFW/Collin County area.

With dry vegetation and elevated fire conditions, any fire that starts could spread quickly and become difficult to control.

Weston Fire & Rescue asks everyone to use extra caution:

• Avoid outdoor burning and burn piles
• Do not toss ci******es onto the ground
• Avoid welding, grinding, or other activities that can create sparks near dry grass
• Keep vehicles and equipment off dry vegetation
• Secure trailer chains so they don’t drag and create sparks
• If you see smoke or fire, call 911 immediately

🚒 Please help us prevent the next wildfire before it starts. A single spark is all it can take.

We loved seeing all our Weston residents decked out for Independence Day! Patriotic outfits, homemade signs, gorgeous floats and that small town atmosphere we enjoy.

Happy Independence Day and we will see you next 4th for another amazing parade!!!

As a reminder, fireworks are strictly prohibited within the City of Weston. The discharge, possession, or sale of fireworks in this area is not permitted.

Even in locations where fireworks may be legal, safety should always come first:

🎆 Never allow young children to handle fireworks.
🎆 Always have a water source nearby, such as a hose or bucket of water.
🎆 Keep spectators at a safe distance.
🎆 Never relight a malfunctioning firework. Wait at least 20 minutes, then soak it in water before disposal.
🎆 Avoid using fireworks near homes, dry grass, fields, or wooded areas.
🎆 Do not use fireworks while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
🎆 Sparklers burn at extremely high temperatures and can cause serious injuries—use caution and supervise children closely.
🎆 Properly dispose of used fireworks by soaking them in water before placing them in the trash.

Help us keep our community safe this holiday season by celebrating responsibly and respecting local regulations.
