Lap joint cut at 5° angle. The wood is Goncalo Alves. I believe this technically called a 'dovetail saw'. Bakuma model 250 from Japan.

People are always asking me, "What should I use to clean my wood furniture?"
Answer: The best antiques are dusted only, with a dry duster, feather or cloth diaper. If you need to remove schmutz on finished items, try a little Naphtha Oil (hardware store) on a clean cloth. Water will leave water spots behind, and eventually eat through a lacquer finish...
