Years ago, while recovering from back surgery, Ron Karr asked himself a difficult question:

“What haven’t I done with my life? And why?”

Sometimes life forces you to slow down — and when it does, clarity shows up.

Here’s what he realized:

Unrealized goals usually don’t come down to talent.
They don’t come down to opportunity.

They come down to:

✔ The stories we tell ourselves
✔ Our ability to engage and inspire others
✔ And most importantly… direction

Too many professionals focus on speed.

But speed without direction leads nowhere.

In sales, if your only goal is to “close the deal,” you’ll push too hard and risk damaging the relationship.

But if your goal is to qualify and co-create the next step?

Your approach changes.
Your conversations improve.
Your results follow.

Pilots don’t just take off and hope.

They define the destination first.

The same is true in leadership — and in life.

So here’s something to think about today:

👉 What outcome do you truly want?
👉 And are your actions aligned with that direction?

Velocity changes everything.

Most professionals ask the wrong question.

They ask:

“How do I improve what I’m already doing?”

High performers ask:

“What outcome do I really want to achieve?”

That shift changes everything.

Because when you focus on activity, you stay busy.
When you focus on outcomes, you become strategic.

And here’s the real problem…

We let our past define our future.

“I’ve only done this.”
“This is my background.”
“This is what I know.”

That mindset doesn’t protect you.
It limits you.

If you’re serious about growth, leadership, and performance…

Watch the video below.

Then ask yourself the question most people avoid:

What outcome am I really pursuing?

Drop your outcome in the comments.

Make it publi

AI is not your real problem. Neither is the market. Or your industry.

The real question is one most people avoid: What do you actually want your life to look like?

If your current results are not exciting you, it's time to stop tweaking tactics—and start redefining the target. Here is how.

01/21/2026

In today's volatile market, one decision separates teams that protect margin from teams that train buyers to wait for discounts. I learned this lesson decades ago and it completely changed how I approach sales velocity today. If your deals are slowing and lowering the price is becoming the default conversation, you will want to watch this before making your next move.

01/14/2026

Most people think velocity is blocked by outside forces—other people, missed signals, bad timing. The truth is far more uncomfortable…and far more powerful.

It turns out the biggest obstacle that gets in our way is internal, and it starts with the stories we create every day.

Everything that someone says or does to you, you immediately create a story. You create a story about what you think they mean or what their intent is, based on your biases, your experiences, and how you interpret their words.

Then you communicate something, and the other person, in turn, creates their own story about what they think your intent is.

And we all think it has been a successful communication when it is not—because it did not land with the intended meaning, right?

So effective communication starts with recognizing that the other person is probably creating their own stories, too.

If you are a C-suite leader who is serious about accelerating results without burning out your team, this is where the real work begins. A Velocity Mindset® executive session gives you a confidential, high-impact space to identify the hidden stories slowing decisions, distorting communication, and quietly draining momentum—then replace them with clarity, alignment, and decisive action. What if everything you say—or don’t say—is silently shaping how others see you, trust you, and follow your lead? Most executives don’t realize that even small words or gestures can trigger hidden reactions that hold their teams, deals, and influence back. In this video, discover how emotional triggers are at play in every conversation and learn the key to communicating with clarity, connection, and impact.

A quick question: have you ever shared what you thought was a brilliant idea, and the reaction you got back was a polite nod, crossed arms, or the classic, “Yeah, let’s think about it”? Same idea, same words, same logic and yet it landed with all the impact of a wet noodle.

Here’s why. Have you ever noticed that no two people ever see the exact same rainbow? You can stand right next to someone, look at the same sky, and still see something different. That’s because a rainbow is not sitting out there in one fixed place. It is created by the angle at which light hits the raindrops and just as important, the angle you are viewing it from. Move a few feet, and the rainbow moves.

Influence works the exact same way. Most people try to convince others by saying, “Let me show you how great my idea is.” But buy-in does not come from what you see. It comes from what they see.

You are looking at your idea through your priorities. They are looking at it through their pressures, their risks, and their deadlines, quietly wondering who or what is going to get blamed if this goes sideways. Same idea, same angle, no rainbow, just cloudy skies and a meeting that could have been an email.

The key to getting buy-in for your ideas is understanding the perspective of the people you are trying to influence. Only then can you position your value in a way that is received as powerful, not pushy.

Velocity is speed with direction, and direction always starts with perspective. When you shift your angle to match theirs, resistance drops, trust increases, conversations move faster, and decisions happen sooner.

So as we close out the year and you are planning for a successful 2026, make sure your plan does not just make sense to you, make sure it speaks to the perspectives of the people you will need buy-in from to make it happen. Because when your plan aligns with their angle, that is when momentum shows up.

From all of us at Karr Associates, we wish you and your families a safe and very happy holiday season, and a successful 2026.

I became a speaker for the wrong reason. I figured if I could be on stage and slay my dragons by being proverbially naked in front of the audience, then I had made it and gotten rid of all my fears. That’s not true. That was being self-focused, and it didn’t help the audience.

I learned from speaking and from NSA (National Speakers Association) that it’s not about you, it’s about them.

The biggest mistake people make when they tell stories is starting with the story itself, and as listeners, we don’t know how to track it. They should start with the point first, then tell the story so we can track where they are going. And then they need to give the application—what it means to us. When they leave the application out, they leave the impact of the story out. That’s something I learned through that whole process as well.

If you are looking for a sales leadership speaker who delivers more than inspiration and actually drives behavior change, I would love to work with you. I do not just tell stories or motivate for the moment; I equip your audience with a clear, actionable framework they can apply the moment they leave the room. Every keynote is tailored to your audience, your goals, and the outcomes you want to see long after the event ends. If you want a speaker who respects your audience’s time, elevates your event, and helps leaders sell with clarity, confidence, and
integrity, let’s talk. https://ronkarr.com/meeting-professionals/

12/12/2025

Before you say a word, your prospect’s brain has already decided whether to trust you or tune you out—and most sales leaders have no idea why. The surprising factor that determines the outcome isn’t skill, charisma, or experience. It’s something far more primal… Once you uncover what is really driving your prospect’s reaction, you will never approach a meeting the same way again.

12/03/2025

If you’ve ever carried a secret weight, one that no title, no revenue milestone, no award could silence, this is the video you need to watch. Because behind every powerful leader is a moment they don’t talk about. A moment that rewired their confidence. A moment that made them question whether they deserved the very success they built. If you are ready to uncover the real force behind sustained performance, sharpen your direction, and release the one thing that’s been quietly limiting your velocity… this message will hit you harder, and lift you higher, than you expect.
