Handling PR for TCSYale is my absolute favorite project. 72 women (and 3 men) learning to win elections from the best in the business. It’s been on WTNH and News12 so far this week. More coverage to come!

Exciting news! Hartling Consulting has received an from the Women's Business Development Council (WBDC) to invest in photo and video equipment to allow us to provide a more complete suite of communications services.

On a personal note, this grant gives me the chance to reactivate the photo muscles I built during my years as a photojournalist, and to expand into video as well. That's where I learned to write as we speak and capture the story through the camera.

I am so grateful to WBDC for the investment and the trust it shows in my business.

The Campaign School at Yale's Summer Session June 8-12 may be my favorite project each year. Helping reporters tell the story of nearly 80 women (and a few men) learning to win elections offers a peak into the political future and the barriers women can face to winning.

Supporting students attending The Campaign School at Yale's Summer Session is a joy. Through press release instruction and a mini-training, these amazing women are getting their own coverage. Acceptance to the school is something to brag about. https://lnkd.in/ed2gMNix

I get to work with her!!! Patricia Russo is the force of nature behind The Campaign School at Yale, a nonprofit that teaches women how to win elections. There big Summer Session intensive campaigning boot camp is June 8-12. It’s a great story!

Patti Russo is the inaugural recipient of the Teresa C. Younger Award! We were so thrilled to honor her at our recent gala with this new award, which recognizes leaders whose most enduring legacy is the leadership they cultivate in others — a core tenet of both Teresa and Patti's leadership. We're proud to recognize trailblazers like Patti, who continues to center and uplift women and girls in Connecticut and across the nation.

This week I held a PR training for students accepted to The Campaign School at Yale's Summer Session campaigning boot camp and stressed:
1. You are never off the record with a reporter unless solidly agreed upon beforehand.
2. Every mic is a hot mic.

The politician in this story was getting ready for an interview and said to reporter of KTLA, "By the way, this is a profile piece, this is not a ‘gotcha’ piece, right?” He then shared his definition of a profile interview. The reporter rightly reported the exchange and the politician is getting deserved blowback.

Politicians and hopefuls, GET TRAINED by people who know media, respect how media works, and take very seriously your responsibility to be authentically who you are with the media and with voters.
