New Cell Phone Features Could Keep You From Receiving Alarm Notifications

When your alarm activates, the monitoring station places a phone call to verify the alarm.

Features on smartphones such as:
Call Attendant
Call Screening
Spam Blocking
Silence Unknown Callers
Do Not Disturb
can prevent that call from reaching you properly.

How it can affect alarm notifications:
🔇The monitoring station call may never ring-
🔇The phone may automatically screen it, silence it, or send it straight to voicemail.
🔇The call may appear as spam
some carriers label automated call centers or numbers that make many outbound calls as “Potential Spam.”
☎️Call Attendant / AI answering features may intercept the call
🔇The monitoring operator may reach an automated assistant instead of you, causing a delay in verification.

🔸️If the operator cannot reach you, they will typically move down your call list according to your account instructions.
Authorities could be dispatched
depending on the alarm type, verification rules, and your account instructions, police/fire dispatch may still occur.

Tips for customers:
✅ Save the monitoring station phone number in your contacts
✅ Add it as a Favorite/VIP contact
✅ Allow it through Do Not Disturb settings
✅ Turn off call screening for that number if possible
✅ Make sure your emergency contact list stays updated
