This is one of those discoveries that makes estate work so interesting! While going through an estate, we came across a group of **Civil War-era currency and other collectible pieces** that immediately caught our attention.
Among the finds pictured are:
* 🇺🇸 **Confederate States of America $10 note** — dated **February 17, 1864**, featuring a horse-drawn artillery scene.
* 🇺🇸 **Confederate States of America $5 notes** — dated **February 17, 1864**, featuring the Confederate Capitol in Richmond.
* ⭐ **State of Alabama $1 note** — dated **January 1, 1863** and issued in **Montgomery, Alabama** — a great piece of Alabama history!
* 🪙 A vintage **silver-tone pendant/ingot-style charm** featuring a classical female profile.
* One piece even has an old identification on the back reading **“H. C. Talaverton, Montgomery Ala.”** — another interesting clue to its history.
These pieces date back **more than 160 years**, right to the Civil War period. They show their age with wear, folds, edge losses and old tape/storage, but that is part of the story behind items that have survived for generations.
