Today was a BIG day at BHT! 🚛🎉

Derek passed his CDL road test this morning and is officially a Class A driver!

Derek has been around Blue Hills Towing his entire life. He has always loved trucks, and even as a toddler he was constantly looking for a ride with his dad, his uncle, or pretty much any driver who would let him tag along! So today feels pretty special.

As many of you know, Derek’s grandfather started Blue Hills Towing in 1969. His mom, Jackie, took over the company in the ’90s and ran it until her passing in 2020. His Uncle Chris then stepped up to continue the family business and has taken Derek under his wing, teaching him all things trucks, towing, and recovery.

The very first day Derek was eligible to take his Class A permit test, he went and passed on his first try. From there, he went to CDL school and has spent countless hours training and working toward this goal. Today, all of that hard work and dedication—to himself, the company, and his family’s legacy—paid off.

And because apparently passing your Class A road test wasn’t enough excitement for one day, what better way to celebrate than with a big truck accident?! Derek got to head out and drive the Landoll all by himself! Talk about perfect timing!

We are incredibly proud of you, Derek. There is no doubt that your mom is smiling down today, so proud of the young man you’ve become and everything you continue to accomplish. 💜

Here’s to a long and safe career ahead, carrying on a family legacy that started more than 57 years ago.

Buckle up, buddy… Uncle Chris needs a break! 😂🚛💪
