Thirty years ago, I was working with my grandpa, Eddie Roberts, hauling core auto parts and recyclable metals within a 100-mile radius around Houston, Texas, at the age of 9. In 2007, I was independent and mobile, trying to make my dream of owning my own scrap yard come true. I started my company in 2011 in a two-bay garage inside the city limits of Wharton. I continued to make outstanding progress, but unfortunately, I had to close down in 2016. For about six months, I went back to being mobile and doing my own thing, so I bought a piece of property to build a house on, and something just told me to sacrifice my property and build my own scrap yard. By the grace of God and my beautiful wife, who believed in me, I made it happen. Never take no for an answer. Just know there's always a way. Never let anyone tell you that you can't do anything, because whatever God gives you, only He can take it away. Know that if it's God's will, it will happen. Today marks my fourth year as an independent owner of Top Price Recycle. Every year, we have climbed in revenue to six figures, though we've had our ups and downs. I appreciate Jerry W. and everyone who helped me get started. I appreciate the people who trusted in me and invested in me to make this happen. Now that I'm in this position, I'm going to let God use me to do whatever He needs to do, because without Him, I am nothing. I'm not a perfect person. I don't like problems. I just want to go home, go to work, and enjoy my family on the weekends. That's it. If God puts you in a position, use it. What's the point of Him putting you in a position if you don't use it? I haven't reached my goals yet, but soon they'll come, rain, sleet, or snow. 10 toes down, let's go. Top Price Recycle #1
