In 1986, Steve went through extensive sewing machine repair training through John Supan and Associates in Chicago, Illinois. Steve worked as an independent contractor through Supan and Associates in Memphis, Tennessee for six years, working through Hancock Fabrics as a mobile repair service, repairing all brands of machines.
After fine-tuning his skills, Steve took a new Hancock district in 1990 in the Denver area with 12 stores. In 2000, he began his own company, Mr. Repair, Inc.
Between the fall of 2008 and ending May 31st, 2011, Steve ran his mobile business on scheduled days at 10 metro Denver JoAnn Fabrics locations, where he also set up his service at Colorado Fabrics (formerly Denver Fabrics) in Littleton every Wednesday.
Steve continued with his workshop inside Colorado Fabrics, from 2008 until Colorado Fabrics permanently closed their business in November 2019.
Steve currently is servicing his customers at The Craft Box, (located in Wheat Ridge, Co) every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10am-3pm.
Mr. Repair has partnered with The Craft Box: The Craft Box is a thrift store totally dedicated to crafters. They buy craft supplies from individuals, estates and companies, and sell those items at great prices! They specialize in quilting, needlework, card marking, knitting, crocheting and scrapbooking supplies.

In February 2020, Steve began his pick-up drop-off service at Thread Play with Bernina,until they permanently closed thier store August 30th, 2025.
In June 2021, Steve began his pick-up drop-off service at Treelotta at their new location in Englewood, CO. He picks up machines and scissors every Tuesday at 11:30am and returns them the following Tuesday at 11:30am. Please drop off your machines prior to Tuesday.
In July 2025, Steve began his pick-up drop-off service at Fabric Play Quilting in Aurora. He picks up machines and scissors every Tuesday at 11:00am and returns them the following Tuesday at 11:00am. Please drop off your machines prior to Tuesday.
Beginning September 27th, 2025, Steve has a NEW pick-up drop-off service at Sew Haven, in Littleton. He will pick up machines every Tuesday at 10:00am and will return them the following Tuesday at 10:00am. Please drop off your machines by Saturday, for Tuesday pick-up.
