As of March 5th, 2024, my company has ceased operations. My efforts will be placed squarely on a new career. It has been a pleasure to work for the good people of Tennessee, friends, and family. I will be accepting certain projects in the future to be completed on a part-time basis. ✌️

Drywall Hang + Finish in White House, TN

Homeowner added pendant lights over the island and a fan in the open kitchen/living room. I worked with the electricians, making containments and running my vac while they cut. I went wide and got a nice finish to smooth out some preexisting humps in the ceiling. Kept the house clean, and the customer happy!

Deck + Stair Rebuild / Structural Repair on Old Hickory Lake

What was originally a straightforward rebuild turned into a bit more when I discovered really bad water and pest damage behind the EIFS siding. I put 2 LVLs in to replace a rotted OSB rim joist, then used James Hardie siding in combination with custom flashing, flashing tape, and other standard building materials like OSB and housewrap to make the repair.

Some really bad carpenter ant damage on this house. They eat through the inner layers of this EIFS stuff like a mouse eats cheese. Not good.

16' x 14' Deck

I went for a new look with this project - it's a different look than anything I've done before. Making NYS code-compliant footings was a hurdle and a half, but the final result was well worth the effort. This cool old house (originally late 1800s) belongs to my old friend and his lovely fiancé, who chose the lighting. They flicker and really set the mood. Thank you two for hosting me during this NY stint - and I hope you enjoy this deck for many years to come.

Deck Repair/Replacement

It was definitely time for some work on this deck. Not all of it was bad though. With the intent of keeping costs low while still being safe and attractive, I think we reached a happy compromise with what was chosen to be replaced. A good stain application is necessary and will bring it all together.

And I got a home-cooked meal, including chicken wings! That's the good stuff. Thank you, Taran and Marchelle!

Dresser Restoration

This dresser was recently given to me by my neighbor during a move-out. It was clearly showing its age and they figured I might be able to do something with it.

I stripped the dresser 😏 and coated it in Tung Oil Finish. I think it's a tiger maple veneer. Not sure what the lighter wood is, but I like the two-tone look I ended up with. This gorgeous dresser now belongs to .kathryn_dpt.

Deck Repair in Goodletsville, TN

Sometimes it's cost-effective to repair the worst parts of a deck to extend the lifespan before a complete teardown and rebuild. Though 25 years-old, I can tell this deck was made well by a good carpenter. I would say maybe 5 more years out of this deck, tops. A few restains until that point would go a long way.

Also, I will almost always accept coffee. Sometimes food.
