Is it good enough? How can we make it more accurate?
A lot of Bandmill cutting issues originate with a lack of carriage maintenance and the track having issues, alignment issues, and or a structural leg that isn’t bearing the weight it needs to. The Bandmill itself and the Band Blades may also contribute to poorly manufactured Lumber. Like anything that you’re looking for better performance, you need to constantly be asking yourself
“ what’s not the way it should be.”
When you switch out your circle blade mill to a Bandmill, you’ll need to do better carriage and track maintenance.
If you tilt that Band mill to 17°, you’ll need to do even better track and carriage maintenance. If you think you have to have a double cut, be prepared to do better maintenance than you’ve ever done in the past! It won’t be a choice you can make, the equipment will make the choice for you.
