I had a lady come in today asking to send a fax. I told her I'd be happy to help her with it. She wrote down the fax number and handed me two papers. I asked her if she'd like to send both pages. She said no. I said, okay, this page then? She said no. I said, okay, then this page? She said no. I said "Okay ma'am, what would you like to fax?" to which she responded "You're rude!" I replied "I'm not trying to be rude ma'am, I'm just trying to accommodate your request." She said "No, I'll take my. business elsewhere. You're rude!" I apologized again and let her know I'd be happy to help her. She walked out.
I try not to take things like this personally, but I tend to take things to heart and it sits with me. I pride myself on a high level of service, but sometimes you just can't please everyone. Also, you never know what might be going on in someone's life. I was busy working on other things and she may have sensed my urgency. I always try to get people in and out of GORGE INK as quickly as possible, and I can understand how I can come across as rude if I'm going 80 MPH and they're going 20 MPH. I wish this lady no ill will and hope she will give us another try. We pride ourselves on a high level of customer service, and I could have probably slowed down a bit to help her out. I hope she finds another place to send a fax without crossing the bridge.
I share this to remind everyone that people out there are hurting. Some people have a short fuse, or are extra sensitive, or may be dealing with pain or loss or depression. Be kind and be patient with one another.
If I or any of our staff ever come across as rude to you, please let us know so we can improve!
