It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of Lisa Henry Jacobs. Lisa was the first addition to our Blu Spas team. She made an immediate impact through her exceptional operational expertise and her unique talent for finding a germ of an idea and crafting it into a spiritual connection between a project, its location, and its core concept. Her magnetic personality, generous spirit, and genuine warmth made people feel deeply connected to her. Because of how frequently people in our industry and beyond would tell us how much they adored her, we sometimes joked with Lisa that we would make more money selling “I love Lisa” t-shirts than from consulting. Her intense passion for our industry and the people in our industry, and her endless quest to discover compelling ways to make wellness more accessible made her a leading and respected voice. We are better having had her in our lives, and we are grateful for every moment of our time with her.

We are fortunate to be working on the Vie L’Ven luxury resort and residences in St. Maarten, created by Altree Developments. Blu Spas is working with HKS Architects, Miami, and Studio Munge, Toronto. The 25,000 square feet Wellness Spa and Fitness complex will encompass interior and private outdoor garden areas, including experiences within an adjacent Conservation park. More to come as the development advances the project planning.

The New York Times has featured an article, "The Joy of May-December Friendship," that showcases stories revealing the reciprocal benefits of these intergenerational relationships.

The significance of intergenerational relationships and their profound impact on our overall well-being is like opening a door to a treasure trove of wisdom, community, cultural sharing, experience, and love.

We think about it when planning gathering spaces and experiences within specific facilities. Creating opt-in daily experiences or calendar events is of growing interest for existing and upcoming wellness spa facilities or tourism.

These BFFs have learned that a 40- or 50-year age gap is no deterrent to connection.
