❤️ OWNER SPOTLIGHT: Meet Tom & Dawn Evans!

School has officially been back in session for a couple of weeks now… and for the first time in many, many years, Dawn Evans didn't have to go back! 😂🍎🎉

After years of teaching, Dawn retired at the end of last school year and is officially enjoying her first fall without lesson plans, classroom prep, and back-to-school craziness.

Although we've discovered that retirement apparently comes with a small disclaimer…

Your family may still put you to work. 😂📦

So don't be surprised if you see Dawn popping into one of our stores from time to time to lend a hand!

Dawn and her husband, Tom Evans, are the owners of our PostalAnnex locations in Kalispell and Whitefish, as well as NW Ink & Toner. They've spent years building these local businesses and serving our communities.

And we really are a family business — I'm lucky enough to call these two Mom & Dad. ❤️

We're incredibly thankful for the customers who have supported our family and our businesses over the years. When you shop local with us, you're supporting the real people and families behind the counter, and that means a lot to us.

So if you see Tom or our newly retired teacher around the stores, make sure you say hi! 👋

And Mom… while everyone else is a couple weeks into the school year:

How's retirement treating you? 😂🍎☕

Things we hear at a shipping store that immediately make us nervous… 😂📦

“I packed it really well.”

“It’s not breakable… I don’t think.”

“The box has been in my garage for a few years, but it should be fine.”

“Can you just put a little tape on it?”

And our personal favorite:

“It should fit.” 😬😂

No judgment here — we’ve seen it all!

Bubble wrap is a great start—but for fragile items like pottery, ceramics, collectibles, and other breakables, it often isn't enough on its own.

The safest shipments use:
✅ Cushioning on all sides of the item.
✅ A snug fit to prevent movement inside the box.
✅ Double boxing for extra protection against bumps and impacts during transit.

Every package travels through multiple sorting facilities, conveyor belts, trucks, and delivery vehicles. A little extra protection can make a big difference.

📦 Stop by PostalAnnex! Whether you're shipping a handmade pottery piece, family heirloom, or another fragile item, we'll help pack it the right way so it has the best chance of arriving safely.

Pack it right. Ship it with confidence. 💙❤️
