Celerity Internet Celerity Internet provides High-Speed Broadband Service to Western South Dakota and NE Wyoming

Celerity Networks was formally started in September of 2011 but unofficially began with an idea and passion for network engineering and design in early 2009. The principles of Celerity Networks have a combined 40 years of network design and engineering experience.

Celerity Networks began offering consulting services to ISP's and WISP's in network design and best practices in 2011. In early 2012

we began the deployment of WISP services in the Spearfish, SD area. With our first tower deployed by the end of April 2012 Celerity Networks was able to begin servicing hundreds of rural residents with high speed internet connectivity with performance equal to and some cases better than dsl/cable service.

RESOLVED - Maintenance OUTAGE - 8/10/2026 @ 11:15AM

We are going to be working on the Chicken Creek tower, and it will take down the service during this time. This should be resolved by 11:30AM, and this post will be updated when work is complete.

All work has been completed and network is fully restored.

UPDATE - 6/9/26 2:00 PM
The outages have been restored and network performance should be back to normal. Our upstream provider is still working on full restoration, but our services have been restored temporarily in the mean time. We will update again when they are hands-off on their work.

NETWORK SLOWDOWN AND OUTAGE - 6/9/26 10:45AM MDT
Hello. At about 10:45 AM MDT, we lost five of our fiber circuits due to (presumably) a fiber optics line cut.
Services in these areas are currently down as a result:
Lead/Deadwood
Boulder Canyon
Maitland Rd/Christensen Rd (Spearfish)
Other areas remain up, but are experiencing network slowdowns to varying degrees.
We will update when we know more, but a tickets have been opened with our upstream fiber provider.

Terry Peak, Boulder Canyon and Maitland (fiber) Areas

An upstream provider has had a fiber cut, and it is impacting the listed towers and fiber network. Once their repair is complete, our services should restore automatically.

Our Whitewood office will be closed on Monday, May 25th in honor of Memorial Day. We will reopen on Tuesday at 8 am MST....
