What would you feel if you saw a cougar in the woods crouching 10 feet away from you? But you don't fear the One who created its claws and fangs? The fear of the LORD includes being afraid of the LORD. He is Almighty.
Moses and Aaron went into the Tent of Meeting. When they came back out and blessed the people, the glory of the LORD appeared to all the people.
Fire came out from the presence of the LORD, and devoured the burnt offering and the fat on the altar. When all the people saw it, they shouted and fell on their faces.
Leviticus 9:23+24
"Oh, but that's old testament," you say?
Peter said to Sapphira, “How did you agree to test the Spirit of the LORD? Look, the feet of those who buried your husband are at the door—they will carry you out, too!”
Immediately she fell down at his feet and died. When the young men came back in, they found her dead and carried her out and buried her beside her husband.
And great fear came over the whole community and all who heard these things.
Acts 5:9-11

It's not just reverential awe. It's knee-knocking fear.
This same God, who is perfectly capable and justified to throw our souls into eternal fire, has decided to provide a Way out of our self-condeming demise. That Way is Yeshua! Reach out to him! Seek Him with all your heart while He may still be found.
Yeshua said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life! Whoever believes in Me, even if he dies, shall live.
And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
