Serving the Village of Whitney Point and surrounding communities since 1873. Welcome to Village of Whitney Point Fire Department. Birdsall chemical company.

In 1873 the Whitney's Point Fire Department was organized. The department consisted of the Nioga hose and steam company and S.E. In 1934 both companies were disband and began operating as the Whitney Point Fire Department. Today the department consists of 25 volunteer members that protect the Village of Whitney Point and parts of the towns of Triangle and Barker. The members answer over three hundred alarms per year.

Whitney Point Fire Dept. is hosting a Swift Water Rescue Technician Level Training, July 23-26 (Thursday to Sunday), a 32-hour class that starts at 8am daily. The class is taught by Bill Matney and it exceeds NFPA 1006 and 1670. This is a hands-on in-water rescue with skill development in simulated environments.
