We waited over a year for this to happen, and she is so glad she actually did it!

Jan had known her closet needed attention for a while
The shelves were overloaded with clothes stacked high, things were falling over, and it was getting hard to find what she needed.
She also had a lot of t-shirts. A lot. 😄

But more than the clutter, it made her feel frustrated and overwhelmed.

Every time she opened the closet, it was a reminder that everything was falling on top of her. She had a lot of guilt over knowing she had clothes that would fit but couldn’t find them.
Like many home projects, it kept getting pushed to later.
Then her vanity mirror fell off the wall.

The sink had to be removed too, and that was the moment she said:
“Alright, it’s time to actually do this.”

Once the bathroom was being fixed, she wanted the closet to finally feel usable too.

So we tackled it together.

We pulled everything out, sorted what she truly wanted to keep, and gave every category a real home.

The leaning towers of clothes were gone.
The shelves were cleared.
Her favorite pieces were easy to reach.
She could see what she owned, get dressed without frustration, and walk into the space feeling calm instead of stressed.

What once felt heavy and overwhelming now felt fresh, functional, and manageable.

Instead of avoiding the closet, she could enjoy using it again.

As women get older a lot of us feel like we are losing our minds, and the closet feels like a metaphor for that.

That’s one of the main reasons my favorite part of organizing is helping people move from overwhelmed… to relieved.

Hey friends...

Last week's BIG job is done. And yesterday, on Easter, I used three pieces of beautiful glassware from that house — pieces the sisters didn't want but couldn't bear to just throw away.

They were on my table today. Part of my holiday.

That's what this work is to me. It's like Toy Story — the things people loved don't have to disappear just because life changed. They just need to find a new home.

This week, about three-quarters of everything in that house walked out the front door through a free yard sale we opened up to the Buy Nothing Whittier community. Neighbors came. Things were chosen. Stories continued.

The rest went to Goodwill — picked up by my team so the front of the house was clean and ready for showings.

The home gets deep cleaned Tuesday. But when my team left, it was already better than the family expected.

That's what we do. We don't just clear a house. We honor what was built there.

Hey friends...

This week my team gets to do something that really matters to me.
One of two sisters reached out to me because their parents are both in assisted living now. The house, the one their whole family grew up in, the one their parents spent decades filling with a life, is going to be sold. And neither sister had the bandwidth to be the one to go through all of it. They just didn't want to keep all that STUFF.

But here's the part that got me. These parents didn't want their things just thrown away. A lifetime of memories deserved better than a dumpster. The collections. The books. The little things you keep because they mean something, even if nobody else would understand why.

So her realtor called me.

This week we're going to go through that whole house, carefully and respectfully. We will pack what goes to family, donating what goes to neighbors right here in our community, and making sure everything that leaves that home goes somewhere with purpose.

I'll share how it goes. 🧡

Someone asked me recently why I love this work.

I live in a neurospicy home. I’m not the one with ADHD, but I love 3 people who are (2 of those 3 pictured here). So I’ve seen the piles. The “I just had that” moments. The quiet stress clutter brings.

That’s when it clicked for me. This isn’t about bins. It’s about helping someone feel steady again. Not behind. Not embarrassed.

One of my clients calls me Mary Poppins. Not because I’m magical. Because I stay calm. I make a plan. We move forward.

No shame.
No pressure.
Just clear steps and real relief.

If this feels familiar, I’d love to hear your story. 👋
