Every year, an estimated 5 million older adults experience abuse, neglect, or exploitation. Elder financial abuse alone costs older Americans more than $2.6 billion annually. Resources that could otherwise support housing, food, healthcare, and other basic needs.

Elder abuse does not discriminate. It affects people of all backgrounds and can happen to anyone, a parent, grandparent, neighbor, friend, or even you. Yet only an estimated 1 in 5 cases are ever reported.

At The Public Health Consulting Group, we recognize that elder abuse is not only a social issue, it is a public health issue. Protecting older adults requires community awareness, education, collaboration, and action. By recognizing the signs, supporting caregivers, and connecting individuals to resources, we can help prevent abuse and promote the health, dignity, and well-being of older adults.

Oral cancer is more common, and more deadly, than many people realize.
According to statistics from the Oral Cancer Foundation, nearly 58,500 Americans are diagnosed each year, and more than 12,000 lives are lost. That’s about 1 person every hour. Many cases are not found until later stages, when treatment becomes more difficult.

The good news? Early detection saves lives. A quick self-check and regular dental visits can make a major difference.

Look out for signs like:
• Sores that don’t heal
• Red or white patches
• Lumps or thickened areas in the mouth or neck
• Persistent pain, numbness, or difficulty swallowing

Your mouth can tell you a lot—don’t ignore the warning signs.

Know your risk. Check your mouth. Speak up early.

💛 Medicaid is more than a program—it’s a lifeline. 💜

Medicaid helps cover healthcare costs for:
✨ Low-income individuals & families
✨ Children & seniors
✨ People with disabilities
✨ Mothers, caregivers & working households
✨ Rural communities

🏥 It supports essential care like:
• Mental health services
• Substance use treatment
• Long-term care
• Local hospitals—often the only lifeline in rural areas

🤍 It serves those who need it most—pregnant women, children, seniors, and caregivers—while also filling the gaps where Medicare falls short.

đź’« Why Medicaid matters:
Because everyone deserves access to care, the chance to stay healthy, and support when it matters most.
