Jolly VFD along with Dean VFD and Petrolia VFD were dispatched for a fire behind a residential home off of hwy 79.

Units quickly responded and were able to control the fire before it spread to other areas. Units stayed on scene to put out the corral that was smoldering. Once Units left the scene no visible smoke was showing.

Within the next hour departments were dispatched back to the area for a rekindle and fire encroaching on other residential homes and properties.

The fire did burn up to some storage sheds but no major damage occurred. The first fire was approximately .25 acres and the rekindle burned approximately 1 acer total. Unknown cause of the fire.

Jolly VFD and Dean VFD were dispatched for a fire off of Fisher Rd and Hwy 287. Upon arrival on scene Wichita Falls FD had the fire under control and was putting out hot spots. Units stopped to assist with the clean up and then cleared the scene.

Today we had Debra from Sikes Senter Mall come out and deliver the donations of water and gatorade that they were collecting for the surrounding departments as well as a donation of 2 boxes of Gatorade packets from Craig Wilkins and Debbie Wilkins. We so greatly thankful for their generosity and support as well as for Sikes Senter Mall for putting together the collection drive for the surrounding departments!

This month has definitely been a hot one, filled with multiple grass fires that have been lasting hours and multiple trips to the gas station. We've also been blessed by our community in receiving multiple donations of water, Gatorade, and electrolytes and we thank everyone for it!

Jolly VFD has been approved for a grant to buy new gear for the department: bunker gear and wildland gear. The grant still requires the department to pay for 10% of the total cost. If you'd like to support the department in purchasing the gear there is a link to our Venmo account on our page or you can message us on Facebook about the donation and we will get with you!

Jolly VFD was requested for mutual aid for a grass fire off of Hwy 148 and Mayo Rd. While responding to the call the department was also dispatched to another grass fire off of 77 Ranch Rd.

921 diverted to the closer grass fire which was around 1 acre and was moving towards a structure. Personal on scene were able to keep the fire from damaging the house, multiple piles of mulch around trees were smoldering and were put out before units cleared the scene to head back in route to the Hwy 148 fire

Units 931 and 941 responded to the Hwy 148 fire. 941(Tinder) was staged on the highway to provide water, 931(Large Brush Truck) went in on the north side of the fire and attacked flare ups that were caused by tall trees burning in the creek. 931 worked their way around to the east side of the fire and all the way to the south end linking up with other departments and putting out hot spots and flare ups that occurred along the fire line.

Once the fire was controlled units linked up to start back burn operations to prevent further spread of the fire or possible outbreaks. Jolly VFD was at the fire for around 6 hours and made it back to the station around 9pm. It was reported that the size of the fire was around 198 acers burned. We'd also like to thank Commissioner Retta Collins for providing water and pickle juice for guys on scene! Her support for the VFD's is outstanding and always a blessing when she's there.

Earlier today Atmos Energy came by the station and dropped off some cases of water. We are extremely greatful for the donation especially during these hot times.

Proud is an understatement. We are excited to announce that one of our own Dalton Rushing has completed his firefighter training. Way to go Dalton, we at Jolly VFD are proud of you and proud to have you on our department. Keep crushing those goals buddy!
