KCDD Speak Up committee meeting followed up by a hot walk doing some job research (sweat equity is literal these days) finished up hanging out with the friendship fields crew while Ellie had her first night at the Wichita Community Children’s Choir!!!

What a couple days! Had the pleasure of meeting Michael Hingson (a blind 9/11 survivor!) and helped a student get started at Ascensions child care center!!
Then got to check on Uylesses at work before our last job tour with Ben!!! Whew!

Reason #8,560 why I love my transition specialist job: last year we worked to connect this young man with the chiefs as he is a super fan. I was able to get connected with the amazing Amanda Myers at Down syndrome innovations who has a spectacular partnership with the Chiefs! A year later he got to start as a ticket scanner/ customer relations rep today!!! I was able to be there to ease this transition as it’s a new place with a lot of new faces. I was so proud of how all the reps did their jobs tonight!!! Standing for that long in the heat can really take it out of you but the kids really rocked it!!! Thank you Amanda for allowing me to help out!
