Hello Oaklawn neighbors,

We want to inform you that we have been addressing sticker issues in our 4-plex area for several years. Despite various efforts by the Oaklawn Board, these attempts have not fully resolved the problem.

With the support of the Sedgwick County Fire Department, we are planning a controlled burn of the 4-plex area. Although we missed our window last year, we recently met with Mr. Matthew Nance from the Fire Department, who has been very helpful in coordinating this effort this year.

The controlled burn is expected to take place within the next two to three weeks. Please be assured that it will be conducted safely, and no one in the neighborhood will be in danger.

The Oaklawn Improvement District would like to keep the Winton family in their thoughts and prayers at this time. The local community is forever grateful to the dedication and support Mr. Winton gave during his time as President of the board as well as a community member. May he rest in peace. The funeral will be October 10th at 2 pm in Derby at Smith family Mortuary.
