I’m honored to be working on a WWII Memorial Book for the Inlow family.

Charlie Inlow served as a nose gunner on a B-24 Liberator bomber. He survived when his aircraft was shot down, then spent more than a year as a POW in Germany.

It’s hard to imagine what men like Charlie went through and the sacrifices they made. I’m thankful the Inlow family has chosen to preserve his stories for future generations.

Completing a Legacy Book is always a little bittersweet. As I spend time listening to someone’s life stories and creating their book, I get to know them in a very real and personal way.

I recently finished a book that was especially meaningful. Not long after we completed his interviews, the narrator unexpectedly passed away. His daughter has repeatedly expressed how thankful she is that his memories have been preserved for their family.

Betty discovered this at the bottom of a box of old photographs, and it reminded her of when she first met her future husband. Restoring the photograph, and preserving her memory of that first meeting, means their children and grandchildren now know how their story began.

Preserving a life story doesn’t have to feel overwhelming.

Something I often hear is, “We’ve always wanted to do this, but we didn’t know where to start.”

That’s why I guide the entire process—from the first conversation to a finished book—so families don’t have to carry the burden themselves.

Stories matter. And they’re worth doing well.

This time of year has a way of reminding us how quickly time passes—and how meaningful our family stories really are. Recording those memories is one of the greatest gifts you can give to future generations. Families never regret capturing a loved one’s stories—only waiting until it’s too late.

If preserving your family’s story is something you’ve thought about, send me a message to learn more.

Working on a Legacy Book for the John and Marilyn Dugan family. I realize I’ve hit a new level of geekdom by how genuinely excited I was to look at microfilm. 😂
