NEW TO FI****MS? START WITH THE RIGHT FOUNDATION.

Buying a firearm is easy. Learning how to safely, confidently, and responsibly use it takes training and practice.

Every Wednesday from 3:00โ€“5:00 PM, Viking 6 Tactical offers our Basic Pistol Safety Class & Range Training at The Gun Shop & Gun Range in Leesburg.

This class is specifically designed for new and inexperienced firearm owners. We start with the fundamentals and give you an opportunity to apply what you learn on the range. You don't have to show up already knowing what you're doing, that's why you're taking the class.

NEED YOUR FLORIDA CCW TRAINING?

We give you several options.

In-Person CCW Class Saturday, September 19 | 10:00 AMโ€“3:00 PM

Want more flexibility? We also offer customized CCW training. Pick a Viking 6 Tactical range day that works for you and complete the classroom portion through a live 3-hour Zoom class. The Zoom classroom can be completed before or after your range training. We simply ask for at least one week's notice when requesting a Zoom date so we can make that class available to others who may want to participate.

Whether you're purchasing your first firearm, haven't practiced in years, or want to complete your Florida CCW training, we'll help you find a training option that fits your experience and schedule. Owning a firearm doesn't make you trained. Training gives you the foundation. Practice develops the skill.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ HAPPY LABOR DAY FROM VIKING 6 TACTICAL ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

Today we recognize the hard work, dedication, and sacrifice of the men and women who keep our country moving forward. Labor Day is more than the unofficial end of summer. It is an opportunity to recognize the people who build our homes, maintain our roads, care for our families, protect our communities, grow and transport our food, operate our businesses, and perform the countless jobs we depend on every day.

There is something worth remembering: Strong people build strong families, strong families build strong communities and strong communities build a stronger America.

Whatever your profession, take pride in what you do. Pass your knowledge on to the next generation. Look out for the people around you. And never underestimate the value of an honest day's work.

From all of us at Viking 6 Tactical, thank you to America's workers for everything you do. Enjoy the holiday, spend some time with the people who matter to you, and stay safe.

Happy Labor Day!

WHY THE INSTRUCTOR YOU CHOOSE MATTERS

When you decide to take fi****ms, self-defense, trauma, or preparedness training, one of the most important decisions you will make isn't which class you take, it's who you choose to learn from. A certificate tells you someone completed a course. It doesn't necessarily tell you how much practical experience they have applying what they teach.

In almost every profession, there is some version of the same saying: โ€œThe schoolhouse gives you the foundation. The real training begins when you start doing the job.โ€

There is an important distinction between knowing the theory, practicing a skill in a controlled environment, and applying that knowledge when the situation is real. Today, anyone can build a website, start a YouTube channel, earn certifications, and sound knowledgeable. That doesn't automatically make their information wrong, but as a student, you should understand where that knowledge comes from.

HOW DO YOU CHOOSE AN INSTRUCTOR?

Look beyond the advertising. Ask about their training, professional background, and practical experience. Have they actually worked in the environments they're teaching about? Is that experience relevant to what they're teaching today? Look at what former students say about them. Reviews can tell you a great deal about whether an instructor communicates clearly, treats beginners with respect, prioritizes safety, and actually helps students become more confident and capable.

Pay attention to instructors who claim that one class, technique, firearm, or piece of equipment is the answer to everything. Good training should teach you how to think, not simply what to think. Don't confuse confidence with competence. Someone can sound extremely convincing while possessing very little practical experience.

THAT'S WHY VIKING 6 TACTICAL TRAINS DIFFERENTLY

Our programs combine formal training with lessons learned through real-world military, law-enforcement, emergency-response, and instructional experience.

Our personal safety and self-defense training incorporates lessons from situations where instructors have actually had to make decisions about force, not simply discuss hypothetical scenarios in a classroom.

Our home-security and preparedness training incorporates decades of responding to burglaries, investigating incidents, and seeing firsthand what worked, what failed, and what people wished they had done differently.

Our trauma training isn't based solely on watching demonstrations. Our experience includes providing emergency care in real-world environments, including battlefield and roadside incidents, and using equipment such as tourniquets and compression bandages and performing wound packing.

Our defensive pistol and rifle programs combine formal military and law-enforcement instruction with lessons developed through multiple combat deployments and years of operational experience.

But there is another important point: Real-world experience alone doesn't automatically make someone a good instructor either. An instructor must be able to take those experiences, separate what is relevant from what isn't, and translate those lessons into safe, understandable, practical training for ordinary citizens.

That's what we work to do at Viking 6 Tactical.

We're not going to turn you into John Wick or Chuck Norris during a weekend class, and anyone promising something similar should probably raise some questions. What we can do is provide you with a foundation; we can teach you to become more aware, we can help you understand your equipment, we can give you skills to practice, we can help you recognize your limitations, and most importantly, we can help you develop the knowledge and confidence to become better prepared to protect yourself and the people who matter to you.

Before choosing your next instructor, do your homework. Check their background. Look at their experience. Read their reviews. Ask questions. Find out whether they're teaching something they've merely learned, or something they've actually had to understand and apply.

Your training is an investment. Choose carefully who you trust to provide it. For questions about Viking 6 Tactical training, call or text George at 802-349-8080, or see our current programs at Viking 6 Tactical.

WHEN SECONDS MATTER, WILL YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO?

Most people assume that when a serious injury happens, they can simply call 911 and wait for help. But with life-threatening bleeding, waiting may not be an option. Severe blood loss can become fatal within minutes. In those first critical moments, the person standing next to the injured person may be the only help available.

That is why Viking 6 Tactical offers two levels of trauma training at The Gun Shop & Gun Range in Leesburg.

STOP THE BLEED โ€” 2-HOUR INTRODUCTORY CLASS

Thursday, September 17 | 4:00โ€“6:00 PM | $20

This is a great starting point for anyone who wants to become better prepared. We discuss how to recognize life-threatening bleeding, what should be in a trauma kit, and demonstrate the use of CAT-style tourniquets, compression bandages, wound-packing materials, and the SWAT-T.

Already have a trauma kit? Bring it with you. We can discuss what you have and help you better understand the equipment you're carrying.

4-HOUR HANDS-ON TRAUMA TRAINING

Sunday, September 27 | 12:00โ€“4:00 PM | $50

This is where we put the equipment in your hands. You'll practice applying a tourniquet to yourself and others, using compression bandages, packing wounds, controlling serious bleeding, and working with trauma equipment.

There is a huge difference between watching someone demonstrate a tourniquet and actually trying to apply one to yourself with one hand and under pressure. That's why we believe so strongly in hands-on training.

And these classes are not firearm classes. You don't need to own a firearm, carry a firearm, or have any previous experience. This training is for parents, grandparents, teachers, church members, business owners, outdoor enthusiasts, drivers, anyone who might someday be the person standing there when somebody needs help.

You probably have a fire extinguisher even though you don't expect a fire. You probably know to call 911 even though you don't expect an emergency. Why wouldn't you know how to stop life-threatening bleeding while you're waiting for help to arrive?

Equipment is important. Knowing how to use it is what makes the difference.
