I have a closet full of clothes… so why do I always feel like I have nothing to wear?

Because the woman I am becoming is not the same woman who bought half of this closet.

And as I prepare for my next chapter in New Mexico, I’m realizing there are some things I simply don’t want to take with me. Not just clothes, but pieces that represent an old version of me, an old mindset, or a version of my life that I’ve outgrown.

I’m trying to become a better woman. A more intentional woman. A woman who knows who she is, what she wants, and how she wants to show up in the world.

So my wardrobe needs to reflect that too.

It’s time to purge, simplify, elevate, and make room for the woman I want to be.

And because some of these pieces are still beautiful and deserve a new home, you might just find something in my closet that belongs in yours. 👗

This isn’t just a closet cleanout. It’s a wardrobe reset for my next chapter.

Come with me. We’re leaving the old version behind and dressing for what’s next. ✨

Friday night, my husband and I headed to Milton Keynes for the Diaspora Calling Festival, and let me tell you… we were transported straight back to high school and college! 😂

With Erykah Badu, Dave Chappelle, Wyclef Jean, and the iconic Lauryn Hill all on one lineup, the vibes were UNMATCHED. We sang, laughed, danced, and genuinely had the best time.

Now, the concert ending at 11 PM because of a contract issue? 🥴 Yeah… we’re going to leave that right there because that’s a whole conversation for another day.

But Lauryn Hill? AMAZING. She absolutely delivered, and I already know I need to see her again.

A night of nostalgia, good music, and two grown folks feeling like teenagers again. 10/10 night. ❤️

When did dressing for the occasion become optional?

A wedding is one of the most important days in a couple’s life. Taking the time to dress appropriately isn’t about wearing expensive clothes or impressing anyone. It’s about showing respect for the bride, the groom, and the significance of the moment.

Showing up in flip-flops, a T-shirt, or jeans to a formal wedding just doesn’t sit right with me.

Maybe I’m old-fashioned, but I still believe some occasions deserve our best effort.

What’s your take? Is dressing up for weddings still important, or have the rules changed?

People love to criticize Black women who choose to live a luxurious lifestyle. But let’s be honest, it’s often not about what they’re doing. It’s about who they are.

A Black woman enjoying luxury, peace, and abundance is still seen by some as something that needs to be questioned, explained, or torn apart. Meanwhile, those same lifestyles are celebrated when they belong to someone else.

Black women deserve to live beautifully. We deserve the vacations, the fine dining, the designer bag if we choose it, the quiet mornings, the nice homes, and the soft life without having to justify a single bit of it.

Luxury isn’t something Black women have to earn through struggle first. We are worthy of it simply because we exist.

So romanticize your life. Take up space. Enjoy the fruits of your labor. And never apologize for living well.

Gen Z says red lipstick is outdated. Cute opinion… but I’ll be keeping mine. 💋

Red lipstick isn’t old. It’s fearless. It’s confidence. It’s attitude with a matching lip liner.

When I put on a red lip, Samantha steps aside and Jade walks in. She’s bold, a little sassy, and doesn’t ask permission to take up space.

Some people wear red lipstick.
I become her.

Who’s your alter ego?
