Had the privilege of touring the Grimm Family Farm poultry processing plant facility. Iowa Secretary of Agriculture, Mike Naig made the trip to tour the facility and listen to the hurdles many Iowa butchery businesses face.

Big thanks to Jason and Hannah Grimm for hosting our group and allowing us to see all the work that went into the building and the day-to-day operation!

Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig visited Grimm Family Farm near Williamsburg and toured the new poultry processing facility, which was supported by the Choose Iowa Butchery Innovation Grant Program. The Choose Iowa program is proud to be investing in, promoting and strengthening the local food system, including Iowa's small meat processors.

🎉 Congratulations to the City of Williamsburg on receiving its fourth Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) Catalyst Grant that will fund renovations to the Hlubek Dozart Law Office!

Iowa County Community Development was proud to fund this grant application and is excited to be part of another project that will strengthen Williamsburg and benefit all of Iowa County.

A huge congratulations to Garrett and Jessica for their vision and investment in this project. We can’t wait to see the finished transformation!

Projects like this don’t happen overnight. Countless hours of planning, collaboration, and hard work take place behind the scenes before construction ever begins. This is a great reminder that when communities, businesses, and local partners work together, incredible things can happen.

✂️ It was a beautiful evening to have a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Smoky Row Trail in North English!

We learned about its history and all of the pieces that came together, including the funding side that Iowa County Community Development had the privilege to be a part of.

The community showed up and made this event special & memorable!

The Iowa County Community Foundation ceremony was once again a fun and inspiring event!

💰The Foundation funds projects in Iowa County to local government and non-profits. A total of $140,696.96 was given out to 19 organizations!

✍️ On behalf of Iowa County Community Development, I had the privilege of writing 4 grants that were funded.

🚔 1. City of Williamsburg Police Department: Funded their patrol car computer upgrades.

👶 2. Marengo Development: Was a pass through agent for the Little Tigers Daycare project to fund furnishings for the new daycare building.

🛝 3. Amana Colonies Festivals: Funded a fence for the new playground.

🏀 4. City of Victor: Funding to expand their basketball court and add a new hoop at Bloethe Park.
