The Williamsfield Police Department would like to remind everyone that Halloween is next week. Please use caution while going door to door and walking down the streets. We want everyone to have a happy and safe Halloween. There will be officer's out during the night, so please feel free to allow your little goblins to approach them as, they may just have some candy to hand out. The approved hours for trick-or-treating are 5pm - 8pm.

A fast moving storm system will bring a round of accumulating snow to the area tonight tapering off by early Thursday morning. The bulk of the accumulating snow is expected to occur north of a Sigourney, Iowa to Bushnell, Illinois line with mainly rain to the south. A large area of heavy precipitation will impact eastern Iowa, western Illinois and northeastern Missouri this morning. Much of the area south of Highway 30 will see rain and isolated thunderstorms, while to the north it will likely be snow transitioning to a wintry mix. There is likely to be a lull or break in the precipitation this afternoon through early evening. Then, additional snow showers will wrap back down across the region through Wednesday morning, as brisk northwest winds usher in colder air.
