Decided to finish up a table I started a couple months ago. 2" thick cherry slab on a DeMorest sewing machine base. The treadle was broken so I had to cut it off. Now I just need to figure out what to do with the flywheel.

Was commissioned to make a display for belt buckels. She wanted a rustic look and didn't care about knots and imperfections in the wood. She's going to take a torch and burn it then put what ever finish on. She loves it. Hopefully she'll send me some pictures when she gets it done. The face frame is made of pin oak and my 18 gadge nail gun would not shoot through the pin oak without following the grain so I had to use hand nails and pre drill to attach it. Didn't have any belt buckels for the picture so I used 5" washers and my little square.

Got the old sewing machine base cleaned up and painted and the piece cut and sanded for the top but I'm not sure if I like it. Seems to narrow and just putting a piece of wood on is to generic, maybe I should carve something on it and put a flood coat or should I just hit it with a few coats of spar
